Welcome to your brow journey! Achieving the flawless, natural-looking results you desire is a partnership between you and your artist. Your role is crucial: by following these instructions carefully, you ensure a safe, smooth healing process and protect the beauty of your investment.
**IMPORTANT: For safety, we cannot perform procedures on anyone who is PREGNANT or currently BREASTFEEDING, NO EXCEPTION.**
Before We Begin: Your Pre-Care Checklist
Proper preparation ensures your skin is in the ideal condition to receive pigment, leading to better results.
4 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Pause Injectables: Any injectables like Botox or fillers must be scheduled at least 4 weeks away from your brow appointment (either before or after) to ensure the muscles have fully settled.
Avoid Intense Skin Treatments: Postpone any chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, or other intensive skin-resurfacing treatments.
2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Protect Your Skin: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds, as we cannot work on sunburnt or compromised skin.
Stop Certain Serums: Please discontinue the use of Retin-A, Retinoids, and any eyebrow growth serums.
48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
To ensure optimal pigment retention and minimize bleeding, it is critical to avoid all blood thinners. This includes:
Alcohol and Caffeine (including coffee, tea, and energy drinks).
Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Niacin.
Supplements like Fish Oil, Vitamin E, and high-dose "Hair, Skin, & Nail" vitamins.
Please consult your doctor before discontinuing any prescribed medication.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Show Us Your Style: Feel free to come to your appointment with your brows filled in as you normally would. This helps me see your personal style and desired shape.
Be Comfortable: You are welcome to bring headphones to listen to your favorite music or podcast during the procedure.
Remember Your ID: Please bring a valid, government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 or older.
How to Heal: Post-Care Instructions
The aftercare process is the most critical step. Please follow these instructions for the first 14 days to protect your investment.
**DO NOT SHOWER FOR THE FIRST 48 HOURS**
What to Expect During Healing : The healing process is a journey with several stages. Initially, your brows will appear darker and bolder before they begin to flake and peel around day 5. It is crucial to not pick at any scabs and let them fall off naturally. After peeling, the color will appear very light—this is a normal "ghost phase." The true, rich color will gradually bloom back to the surface, with the final result visible around the 6-8 week mark.
The Perfecting Session (Your Touch-Up) : Permanent makeup is a two-step process to ensure perfect, lasting results. Your perfecting session, scheduled 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment, is essential. During this visit, we will assess the healed results, address any areas that healed lighter, and make final adjustments to the shape and color. This touch-up completes the process and ensures the longevity of your beautiful new brows. To keep your brows looking their best, we recommend a "Color Boost" maintenance session every 12-18 months.
THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE (DAY 1):
Blot Gently: For the first few hours, you may see clear fluid (lymph) beading on your brows. Gently blot this away every hour with a clean, dry tissue. This is crucial for preventing heavy scabbing.
First Wash: Before bed, perform the first gentle wash as described below.
FOR THE NEXT 14 DAYS (MORNING & NIGHT)
Wash: With clean hands, gently cleanse your brows with a small amount of gentle face soap and lukewarm water.
Rinse: Splash with water to rinse thoroughly.
Dry: Gently pat the area completely dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use a cloth towel.
Moisturize: Once fully dry, apply a very thin, rice-grain-sized amount of the provided aftercare ointment to each brow with a clean Q-tip.
CRUCIAL RULES FOR HEALING (FIRST 14 DAYS):
NO swimming pools, saunas, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans.
NO strenuous exercise or activities that cause heavy sweating for 14 days.
NO makeup or pressure on or near the brows.
NO picking, peeling, or scratching the brows. This will pull out your pigment and can cause scarring.
NO direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks.
NO sleeping on your face for 2 weeks.
NO facials, botox, or chemical treatments for 4 weeks.
Understanding the Healing Journey
The healing process has several phases. Trust the process.
Days 1-4: Brows will appear darker and thicker. This is temporary.
Days 5-12: Brows may feel dry, itchy and begin to flake or develop light scabbing. They will look patchy. This is normal. Do not pick.
Days 12-25 (The "Ghost Phase"): As flakes clear, your brows will appear very light, as if the color has vanished. This is due to a fresh layer of skin healing over the pigment.
Weeks 4-8: The pigment will gradually resurface and "bloom" back to its true, healed color. The final result will be visible around the 6-8 week mark.
