Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between your brow services (Ombré, Nano, and Combo Brow)?

We specialize in three advanced PMU techniques. The Ombré Powder Brow creates a soft, misty, makeup-filled look, perfect for clients who regularly use a pencil or powder. The Hyper-Realistic Nano Brow uses ultra-fine hair strokes to mimic the most natural brow hair growth possible. Our signature service is the Nano Ombré (Combo Brow), which blends the realistic Nano Hair Strokes at the head of the brow with the polished Ombré shading through the arch and tail, giving you both realism and definition.

Does the procedure hurt?

Client comfort is our top priority! We use a highly-effective topical numbing cream before and during the procedure. Most clients report little to no pain—it often feels like a light scratching or buzzing sensation, and many clients relax enough to fall asleep.

Is this the same as Microblading? Why do you use a machine?

The techniques we offer are a modern, superior evolution of permanent makeup. We do not offer Microblading because that manual cutting technique can cause scarring and lead to pigment blurring (migration). We use a digital PMU machine with ultra-fine needle configurations to deposit pigment precisely into the exact, shallow depth of the upper dermis layer of the skin. This controlled precision means significantly less trauma and superior, longer-lasting retention across all skin types.

What is the healing process like, and how long does it take?

The initial healing takes about 7–10 days. Your brows will look crisp and noticeably darker for the first few days. Around Days 4–7, light scabbing or flaking may occur. It is crucial not to pick or scratch the area. After about 10 days, the color will look much lighter and softer. The full, settled color clarity will be visible after 4–6 weeks.

How do you determine the best shape and color for my face?

The first hour of your appointment is dedicated entirely to custom design. We use precise brow mapping techniques based on your facial bone structure and symmetry. We then custom-blend our hybrid organic pigments to perfectly match your natural hair and skin undertones, ensuring the color complements your features and lifestyle. We never begin the tattoo process until you have fully approved the final shape and color choice.

Who is NOT a suitable candidate for PMU brows?

For your safety and to ensure optimal results, we cannot treat clients who are: currently pregnant or nursing; under 18 years of age; prone to keloid scarring; currently using Accutane (must be off for at least 1 year); or have active infections, eczema, or psoriasis in the brow area. Clients with certain conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or those undergoing chemotherapy require a doctor's written clearance. Please notify us of any medical conditions before booking.

Will the pigment change color (turn red, blue, or green) over time?

You can put that fear to rest! We use high-quality, stable Hybrid Organic Pigments. These modern pigments are specifically formulated to fade gradually and softly over time. They are designed to stay true to their original tone, so you do not have to worry about the pigment shifting to an unnatural color like dark green or blue.

How long does the service last, and what is the required maintenance?

The results are considered semi-permanent and typically last 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin type and lifestyle. A Perfecting Session is required 6–10 weeks after your first appointment to set the final color and shape. After that, we recommend a color boost or refresh session every 12–18 months to keep the color and definition looking crisp and vibrant.

What should I avoid before my appointment?

To minimize bleeding and promote the best pigment retention, please adhere to the following:

  • Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for at least 24 hours prior.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E) for 48 hours prior (always consult your physician before stopping prescription medication).

  • Avoid heavy sun exposure/tanning for 1 week prior.

  • Avoid Botox or fillers in the brow/forehead area for at least 2 weeks prior.

Will the PMU procedure harm my existing natural brow hair?

Absolutely not. Our precise, non-invasive techniques do not affect your natural hair growth. We work around your existing hairs and integrate the pigment seamlessly so your natural brows are completely preserved. We only remove the few stray hairs that fall outside of your approved, custom-mapped shape.

  • Nano Hair Stroke Brows: $599

These policies are in place to ensure we maintain a consistent schedule, provide the highest level of service to every client, and adhere to strict safety standards. By booking an appointment with Effortless Brow PMU Studio, you acknowledge and accept the following terms.

1. Booking Fee & Payment
  • Non-Refundable Booking Fee: All new appointment bookings (including initial services and color boosts) require a non-refundable booking fee (deposit) to secure your date and time. This fee is credited toward the total cost of your service.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance for your initial service is due immediately upon completion of the procedure. We accept all major credit cards and cash.

  • Pricing: All published prices are subject to change without notice. If you have a confirmed appointment, your price is locked in at the time of booking.

2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
  • Notice Required: We require a minimum of 72 hours notice (3 days) to cancel or reschedule any appointment.

  • Deposit Forfeiture: If you cancel or reschedule outside of the 72-hour window, you will automatically forfeit your booking fee. A new fee will be required to book any future appointment.

  • Rescheduling: If you provide adequate notice (72+ hours), your booking fee may be transferred to a new appointment date one time. Any subsequent rescheduling will result in the forfeiture of your deposit, requiring a new deposit to book.

3. Late Arrival Policy

We practice detailed brow mapping, which is essential to achieve your desired outcome. This requires a full, uninterrupted session time.

  • 15 Minutes Late: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we may not have enough time to complete the meticulous design and treatment process. Your appointment will be canceled, your booking fee will be forfeited, and you will be required to pay a new booking fee to reschedule.

4. Safety & Eligibility (Contraindications)

Your health and safety are our highest priorities. Permanent makeup is a sensitive procedure, and certain health conditions prevent us from safely performing the service.

  • Refusal of Service: We reserve the right to refuse service if a client has certain health contraindications (e.g., is pregnant or nursing, is under the age of 18, is undergoing chemotherapy, is prone to keloid scarring, or has recently used Accutane—must be off for at least 1 year).

  • Preparation Violations: If you arrive at your appointment having violated the pre-care instructions (e.g., consumed caffeine/alcohol within 24 hours, or taken blood thinners), the service will be canceled immediately, and your deposit will be forfeited. This is necessary to prevent excessive bleeding, which affects pigment retention and final results.

5. Touch-Up & Perfecting Session Policy
  • Perfecting Session: The 6–10 week Perfecting Session is vital for long-term color and shape retention and is highly recommended. It is a separate fee, due at the time of service.

  • Annual Color Boost: Color boost appointments are recommended every 12–18 months to maintain color vibrancy and shape. After 24 months, your service will be charged at the full initial price.
